Privacy overview

Your conversations.
Your own space.

A plain description of where the current app keeps information and which services it connects to.

Your licence portal

The licence service records your customer email against your licence for sign-in and support. Email sign-in sends a one-time link through Cloudflare Email Service; the link expires after 15 minutes. The portal displays your licence status and activation records, including a random installation identifier and last online licence check. It does not receive your WhatsApp chats or real Mac name.

A necessary, secure browser cookie keeps you signed in for up to one hour. The server stores a digest of that cookie and sign-in tokens, and records email ownership changes, licence revocation and Mac release actions. Sign-out ends that browser session. Admin sign-in uses Pocket ID.

Your chats connect to WhatsApp.

Amidly keeps two separate WhatsApp sessions in a Mac window. Chats connect directly to WhatsApp, whose service handles messages and contacts.

Amidly’s licensing service does not receive your WhatsApp chats or contacts. Amidly is independent software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta.

The details you choose stay local.

Sessions, account names, alert preferences, work hours, custom icons and backgrounds are saved on your Mac.

Private Later cues contain notes you write yourself and are stored locally. Later does not copy or archive conversations, use AI or send automatic replies.

Licence checks are separate.

Activation and periodic licence checks send licence credentials and a random installation identifier to the Amidly licensing service. They do not send your WhatsApp chats, contacts, account names, icons or backgrounds, and do not use a hardware fingerprint.

The service uses the request’s IP address to limit repeated activation attempts. Licence access can last up to seven days after a successful online check, or until the licence expires, whichever comes first.

More about licence access

Basic release and activity reporting.

From Amidly 1.8.1, authenticated licence checks also report the app version, Apple silicon or Intel architecture, and the last time Amidly’s window was opened or focused. Repeated visits are batched; background licence checks are recorded separately and are not treated as use.

This helps support identify older versions and understand update adoption. Reporting is tied to your existing random activation identifier and customer licence. Daily activity records are retained for 90 days; the latest version and activity time remain with the activation record. No chats, message counts, writing, account names or contact information from WhatsApp are collected.

Download reporting counts installer and update request starts and range requests. These are aggregate service requests, not a count of individual people or proof that an installation completed.

Purchases are not open yet.

Checkout and automatic licence delivery are not connected. Customer email sign-in is available for existing licences with a recorded email; it does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Purchase information and launch policies will be available before checkout opens.
